Oakville Speed Skaters Collect 12 Medals at Provincials

An incredible performance by Oakville Speedsters Team at Provincials in London.

Five members of the Oakville Speed Skating Club won gold medals in the provincial B and C championships last weekend.

Thirty-two members of the club competed in the season-ending meets in London.

Izabella Zakatsiolo, Emilio DeSousa, Michael Borca, Mathys Marois and Cyprien Petiteville were the gold-medal winners.

Four Oakville skaters — Liz Lee,  Zinnia Irwin, Hana El Sammak and Sam DeLuca — were silver-medal winners while Aveline DeSousa, Daniel Kim and Marcelo Giansante took home bronze medals.

Nate Thompson, Colby Warren  and Adam Maynard finished 1-2-3 in the boys’ Division 2 race.

Five other skaters earned top-six placements: Jasmine Kim, Javan Mayrand, Lee DeLuca, Juan Quintero and Charlie Cotton.
